I see the possibility as something similar to what the Browns did this weekend - the game was out of reach, the starter got benched "to protect him" (yeah, right).

If we're 12-odd games into the season and still haven't won another, I could see them giving Luton a couple games if only to get some tape on him, regardless of Minshew's health. They might send him to IR with an ankle or some ticky-tack injury, just to avoid the whole 'benching' controversy. I am quite confident that we will be doing SOMETHING at QB this offseason, whether it be darft and/or FA, and Luton will likely be the odd man out. Maybe we give him a chance to show he belongs, and ship him off and recoup the late rounder we spent on him.

Unless Minshew turns into Gabbert, I don't see anything changing as early as the bye.
