Skill, technique, anticipation, tactical awareness and co-ordination are the prime factors for soccer players, not size, speed or strength. Obviously James, is a very co-ordinated person, a great athlete, plays a team game and is a hard worker, so there are a lot of sports he could have excelled at, but what makes him great on the court (size, strength, explosion) would be at best peripheral skills to a soccer player and the lack of soccer players that anywhere near size suggests being that big would probably be a hindrance.
