Revisiting this thread after news of Gardner's injury, I think that Gardner's injury is a reason why he probably won't get a traded by this year's deadline.

That being said if his thumb can heal up and he can come back and play some games this year, that could help his trade value. Especially if he ends up looking more like he did during the first two games of this year. If his accuracy goes back to being much better (even during the Miami loss it was over 70%) that will help his trade value. As a couple of us have pointed out in various threads statistically speaking he has been having a nice year as an individual. Heck, even with his messed up throwing hand he still threw 5TDs and only one interception since the game he got injured. His accuracy decreased but he was still throwing TD's and hardly any interceptions. That's something. If his hand wasn't messed up maybe he makes some of the easier throws and the Jags actually beat the Chargers.

If he plays closer to the first two games should he come back more people would be willing to trade for him. I think that people would still be interested in trading for him in the offseason.

Now it's just a matter of how long he will might miss games because of the injury. And maybe how someone like Luton make look if he plays in Gardner's absence. If Luton looks really good they may keep him in, and that could effect Gardner in various ways. But even then I think that someone would still be willing to trade for him during the offseason.
