Flunkies are flunkies for a reason. They are the collateral damage that take the hit to protect the big guy. You’re obviously not new to this planet, surely you understand how this works.

With a "normal" president... I would be in complete agreement with you.  But Trump breaks all the norms... so I could see this unconventional situation landing him in prison to clearly demonstrate the limits of behavior and openly criminal activity to future candidates.  Not probable, but definitely possible. How much damage he does on the way out could determine that fate.
