People read into things what they wanna see. Trust me, I have a feeling that I'll be doing plenty of complaining about the incoming president for the next 4 years. It'll just be a different set of reasons why I hate him. I expect a lot less outright lying from the next administration and a lot more doing things I just flat out don't agree with. It's basically two sides of the same coin.

That's common in politics. In fact, it's partly why politics sucks so badly. Democrats couldn't even blame Hillary for the 2016 loss, you think they would blame her for COVID? What's going on with Trump and his supporters is nothing new. The only thing different about Trump is he gave a big middle finger to the media that establishes the narrative. Before that, Republicans would "spin" their own narrative to counteract the news, but Trump just said, "Fake news!" Sometimes he was right, sometimes he was wrong.
