I suspect he believes he's demonstrating stability and patience. He said a few years ago that the successful franchises tend to have stablity within the organization.

That's not an excuse though, that's a criticism. Those teams have stablity because they're successful, they're not successful because they have stablity.

He hasn't figured that out yet and that's on him.

Yes, chicken and egg for sure. It's also futile to pursue stability if your coach/ GM are below average. Who wants below avg stability? Unless you work for the government...
