I feel like if they wanted to increase the trade value for him they could play him at least a couple of these last games. I know a lot of people want the team to tank and don't want Gardner playing because they don't want to win. I think that the Jags will end up getting to possibly take the #2 or #3 QB in the draft (even with some wins.)

Looking at the other teams in the leagues wins, that's very possible. The Bengals only have two wins, but they aren't taking a top QB, regardless of what their record ends up being. The Chargers only currently have three wins and aren't taking a top QB. Then you have Eagles and Cowboys at three wins. I don't see the Cowboys taking a top QB, because I believe they still believe in Dak. The Eagles might. But they do have Jalen Hurts and maybe they get an extra win in there somewhere and somehow stay behind the Jags.

Then you have the four win teams like Houston, the Broncos and the Panthers. I could see all of these teams getting at least one more win. And the Texans have DeShaun (The Jags would have to win out to at least equal that which I don't see happening.)

This is one reason why I find all the hand wringing over the team almost winning or possibly winning to be unnecessary. (Plus I just can't behind wanting the team to lose badly like that). At worst the Jags will get the opportunity to draft in the top 3 for QB prospects. And very well could draft #2. And that's factoring in if they actually get some wins in these last few games. They are too far behind other teams and the teams they are close to could add another win or two.

Unless the Jags like run the table and other teams don't win any more games, their draft situation is pretty good. They will have a very high pick in the draft, regardless of who plays these last games at QB. They could technically play Gardner, win a couple of games, increase his trade value and still have like a top 2 or 3 pick for a QB.
