That is true, but I look at the Chargers- they have a losing record this year, but they've found a great young QB.  Their arrow is pointing up.  Way up.  I'd love to be in that position next year.

Agreed. I have a feeling I'll feel as much optimism (I hope) about the new front office/staff as I will about Lawrence if we manage to get him.

No guarantees come with any player.

By that rationale, why draft at all?

Seriously, nobody asserts we go from 1-15 to Super Bowl champion in one offseason, even if Trevor Lawrence is everything we hope he is and we are able to draft him and he wants to play for us, he'll still need help.  

Think about any successful QB.  They all had surrounding talent to help make them successful.

But that fact would not negate his importance to this franchise in any way.  At the end of the day, he'll be one of 53.  The most important one, yes, but still just one of 53.

Are you sure? Sounds to me like a few people are saying this pick is guaranteed to turn the franchise around. Like I said, nothing is guaranteed and it sounds like you agree. Getting the right staff and drafting better on both lines is equally as important.
