Just because a team hires the best GM available and the best HC available doesn't mean success. They have to have the same ideas on how to run a team and what type of team they want to field, if they do and the GM finds the talent and the HC can coach that talent, I don't see the problem.

I Concur w/your sentiments but I'll add to the frey.

1.) If Meyers or any HC is hired prior to the GM and given total control of player personnel (ie Coughlin), the GM could bring in all the talent in the world and the HC will have the power of veto. 

I sincerely agree that both will have to be on the same page in order for this scenario to be successful.

2.) Meyers may prefer Fields as our franchise QB and we all know why. He MUST trust the do-diligence w\respect to the scouting department and the will of the GM. They'll be ALOT of fans Seriously Upset if this were to happen. Fans would be going for his jugular w/o him coming up w/a game plan.
