As someone who lives in Cincinnati, I concur. He was so wishy washy. He had absolutely no control of the players at all, when he coached the Bengals. Guys like Pacman Jones and Vontaze Burfict were constantly getting in trouble on and off the field and Marvin Lewis did nothing but make excuses for them. He's a terrible coach.

I mean the bengals were garbage before he got there and they immediately got worse when he left. He also has had really bad luck with QB injuries in the playoffs or his guys just choking.

Let me put it this way, Andy Dalton looked like a good QB under Marvin, he didn’t look anything like that after he left. Carson Palmer also had his best season under Lewis.

He’s not my favorite, but he’s at least as good a choice as Caldwell IMO.
They immediately got worse, because they purged the team of locker room cancers and started re-building. Here in Cincinnati we knew that was gonna happen. He had no control of his locker room full of criminals and his constant excuses were maddening! All my friends are Bengals fans and they wanted him out for years.
As far as being as good as Caldwell, is that what we are striving for? Things start to look up and you wanna set the bar that low. C'mon dude........ we can do better. Way better. This job is finally coveted. We should have our pick of the top coaches and GM's. Let's not screw this up by taking a failed retread.
