To summarize, I think that you believe that this woman was driven to do what she did based on what President Trump said.  My counter to that is that millions of people think that there was corruption and that the election was in fact stolen based on what we saw and read... The bottom line is we don't know exactly what motivated her to do what she did that ended up in her death.  It could be your version (what President Trump said) or it could be my version (what she saw on whatever media outlet(s)).  Either way there is a significant portion of our population that is angry at the government... angry enough to do things that they normally wouldn't do.

I don't know the full background of Mrs. Babbitt.  What I do know is that she served her country proudly and was a decorated veteran of the Air Force.  99.9% of the time if someone served our country for 15 years they probably aren't a criminal.

Her death was unfortunate and sad.  What happened at the Capitol was unfortunate and sad.  The state of our country is unfortunate and sad.

How do we fix it?  I don't have the answers either.  I used to be a real "tech geek", but I got out of that circle because I saw what was coming.  To me tech has turned kind of "evil".  Social media, traditional media, etc. has turned into a tool for both sides that can be a very dangerous tool.  The "information" spread by such tools is powerful.

You'd like to think somebody who served 14 years in the Air Force would have a little more common sense than to break the law by storming and rioting the Capitol... 

She's a traitor, a criminal and she died for somebody who doesn't give two [BLEEP] about her. Talk about being brainwashed, but I guess that's usually what happens when you join a cult.

The most frustrating thing in conversations with people on the more liberal side of the spectrum is this.  You folks continue to not understand that Trump is not the cause but a symptom.  Look at what is happening in the wake of Wednesday’s events.  Conservative platforms are being openly banned.  This is nothing new, the left has been silencing conservatives for years.  Disagree with an Obama policy-racist!  Oppose abortion on demand-misogynist!  Witness a democrat do some egregious act-observe silence from the legacy media or worse a blatant cover up.  Trump was championed by the right because he stood up to all of that and gave a disenfranchised segment of society a voice.  To make matters worse we are witnessing the left and their partners in the legacy media double and triple down on it, all the while calling for unity.
