If he has the velocity the ball gets there on time. But he doesn't and he throws a pick instead. Teddy is going to face a tough challenge going against real NFL defenses compared to FIU's.
He's not talking about his deep ball. He's talking about him being a dink and dunk QB which he is not. He excels 20-25 yards down the field. He's also very good at short throws and screens, which is perfect for today's NFL which is mainly intermediate-short throws. 

 

Strength of competition has no effect on whether a QB is successful in the NFL or not.
