Joe Biden's America

So a CMC is equal to an Army CSM, or Command Sergeant Major (both E-9).
I remember that BS with the Navy changing the ratings. It made no sense to me, but neither did the ratings. In the Army you're addressed as your rank: PVT, SPC, SERGEANT, LT, CAPT, and so on. Didn't they reverse that nonsense? That deal with the guard duty is ridiculous. It sounds like the Air Force, or Chair Force as we called them. The only two hour rotations We had was for Fire Guard duty in boot camp and AIT. We had to stand CQ (charge of quarters) duty in the barracks for 24 hours. We were responsible for everyone who entered and exited the building, for the soldiers who lived and worked there, for security of the offices of the enlisted and officers, etc. If anything went sideways it was on us who were CQ at the time. If you had to hit the latrine or get food at the DFAC you had to find someone who would man the desk. |
