I agree completely with both of you.

Now what the team will/won't do at OL will depend, in part, on how much influence Baalke has.

They have said they will place an emphasis on value over need.

Meyer has said-at least in free agency-that he would place an emphasis on players he or the coaches know.

Finally, one of the criticisms of Baalke is that he took too many draft chances on guys coming off serious knee injuries.

Combining all of this, I could see guys like Wyatt Davis or Landon Dickerson-both of whom are coming off of knee injuries-be targets in round 2 or round 3-even over guys like Friermuth or Jordan who represent a bigger need.

As for what I would do. I can't say I would be necessarily opposed to the team taking either of the two OL I mentioned above.  Assuming their recovery from the knee injuries is going well, they would represent very good value in that second to 3rd round area.  But in addition to that, I would want at least one of the T positions addressed.

If nothing else, such a strategy would dramatically improve the depth along the offensive line and enable us to transition into having new starters next year by giving those guys "redshirt" years.  Possibly, these guys could unseat incumbent starters.
