TheO-LineMatters 7 Round Mock Draft

I live a little outside Cincinnati and I listen to sports talk radio almost every day. I cannot imagine the Bengals selecting anyone but Sewell. If they do, the fans here might riot. Even yesterday, one of the local radio guys said the main priority for the Bengals would be to never see the injury cart on the field ever again for Burrow. He was firmly in the camp of getting Sewell and protecting the QB. Chase is a tremendous WR, but the Bengals already have two very good, young WR's in Tyler Boyd and Tee Higgins. You can find a game stretching WR with speed in round 2. You're not gonna find an OT like Sewell in round 2. Not even close. Also take into account that the Bengals only have 1 O-Line position that is stable after the 2021 season. Riley Reiff was only signed to a 1 year deal, so in essence, Jonah Williams is the only decent O-Lineman they have under contract after this coming season. You have to get the O-Line stabilized and the interior for the Bengals is nothing less than putrid! Two of my best friends are huge Bengals fans and they are already talking about Penei Sewell playing LT, Williams moving inside to LG for 2021 and Riley Reiff playing RT. They could then use the middle rounds to find at least one interior guy to start in 2021. When Reiff moves on after 2021, Williams would then move out to RT, where he would stay, giving the Bengals very solid bookends for the foreseeable future. |
