When I posted it, I knew that I would get hate for having Bryan on it.  I'm not a fan either and considered other options.  However, the first problem is that it isn't a good draft for defensive linemen.  The second problem is that defensive linemen don't fall in the draft.  If you want a good one, you need to take one early, and I had other positions which I considered to be bigger priorities for our day 1 and day 2 picks.  I'm not big on taking a defensive lineman late in the draft.  As I said, good ones tend not to fall.  Even if you take someone late in the draft who beats out Bryan, how long is he on the team before he's upgraded?  One year?  I'd prefer to take a position like running back or interior offensive line on day 3 that does tend to drop in the draft and the player may be a long term member of the team.  I'm not a Taven Bryan apologist, but we are talking about 3rd string and likely game day inactive.  He had enough physically to be drafted in the first round and we have a new defensive line coach, a new defensive coordinator (who spent most of his career as a defensive line coach) and a new 3-4 scheme.  I can see them giving Taven a year to see if they can turn him around.  I sometimes refer to players like this as a "free raffle ticket".  No, you don't expect to win, but if there's little to no cost, you might as well take one.
