The Flu Shot eliminates the flu in 60% of adults. For those who still catch the flu the vaccine is shown to lessen the severity of the symptoms. The point of the vaccine is to prevent it, not lessen the symptoms, that's an ancillary effect. And you get the vaccine because humans are disgusting disease vectors who are passing around a preventable virus that's killed 2% of the people who become ill from it.

The real efficacy rates are coming out now and they around 1% or less. The real rate takes the 99%,98%,etc rates and then gets real % of people that are now helped by the vaccine versus everyone that would have been fine on their own.
