Week 6 Ap And Coaches Polls
|
Quote:A bit better, yup. A schedule ranked 64 and still playing 4 ranked teams means that level of the remainder of that schedule is absolutely dreadful. I'd have to go back and make sure one of those teams wasn't a HS team. I'm a huge college basketball fan and this issue comes up a lot. It is widely accepted that playing a schedule of: Duke Coppin State Kansas UNC-Greensboro is more difficult than playing Northwestern Xavier Georiga Tech. Arizona St. The first set of games, your team is almost guaranteed to come out 2-2, while the last set of 4 games, any loss would be a big upset. The strength of schedule would be fairly similar, though. 4-0 against Duke, Kansas, and two cupcakes is more impressive than 4-0 against 4 average teams. That is why the NCAAB selection committee uses "wins vs RPI Top 25", "wins vs RPI Top 50", and "wins vs RPI Top 100" as a huge tool in selecting teams for the NCAAT. |
