I'm childfree by choice and wonder why people have more than a couple of kids and that "thesis" makes me cringe. My cousin and his wife have five kids and while I don't understand the mentality #1 they can afford them, #2 they chose to have them (as in there were no surprise kids,) and #3 its their right to have as many kids as they want.

I don't believe people should have more kids than they can afford but again, freedom is what we value here in America, and who can quantify these things?
