Was out there today. So hot!
Some takes: Trevor looked great. Threw some great passes, consistent, lasers. For the most part good decision making. I think O'shaugnesy looks the part of our TE1. Caught a threaded laser for a TD in between defenders, while going to the ground. Seems faster compared to the other TE's. As much as I love a good underdog story, and love Tebow as a person, I can't see how he makes the team. To his defense, he caught a few balls today, even what appeared to be a one-handed catch. But his cuts in his routes are lacking, and appears to lack the quickness necessary to get away from a defender. He was gassed by the end of practice. Narrowing down the receivers to keep might difficult, as several newer receivers made some decent catches. Tevin Jones had an spectacular one handed end zone catch. Treadwell has an amazing diving fingertip catch for about 35 yards. But he also dropped a TD pass in the end zone. Etienne looked great in his receptions. Had a great 1 handed catch as well. Hard to tell how would have done on the ground as there was no contact during practice (except when Wingard lost his way). Jamal Agnew looked sharp during drills, good quickness and route running, but with no contact, hard to evaluate the returns. Tyson Campell and Griffin had some nice pass breakups. Scrimmage started to get boring after watching Luton and Beatherd throw passes against a defense that was just standing around. |
