That is a reasonable take.  I would counter that even though the 2013 model class was not typical Mercedes (Steelers) quality, it had the brand name recognition and reputation for high quality for 40 years.

 

The Yugo priced Jaguars also had the Yugo brand recognition and Yugo quality.  In other words, just because a product is priced as it is worth doesn't mean people are inclined to buy it.
