There desperately needs to be a national standard for education.  Kids should have rights to an equal education regardless of where the live, and currently, they definitely do not.

Yes, local control is best... Unless the bad guys have local control and the good guys have control at the next higher level, then standardization at that level is better, and the next higher level of control that the bad guys hold needs to stay out of it.

Local is always best. You start letting non local guys run stuff and then they want to run everything because they think they can run it better than you.
