He's always been a liar and a blowhard, even way before he got into politics. He was raised that way. Read about his father and you will see why Trump turned out the way that he did. The only thing I never questioned about Trump was his love of money, fame, power and himself. The only reason why he wanted America to be the best country in the world (as he thought it should be,) was because he thought he would get credit for it. He didn't care about the office of the president or it's responsibilities, he just wanted to be president and have all the perks that it offered. I don't think it's hatred. I think he makes fair points about Trump. The dude is clearly a narcissist. He also lacks couth. There are many times he embarrassed the nation with the way he represented the office. However, the problem with O-line and Mikesez, is they don't give enough credit to him for what he did well. The dude clearly loved America, not for any of it's ideals, but because he sees it as an extension of himself. If the ideals have any meaning to Trump, it's because those ideals were engrained in him at a young age and became a part of his own identity. He wants people to share that cultural identity. Hard working. Strong. Successful. Powerful. He wants America to be admired by the world, much like he views himself. When you frame Trump in this light, you can trust that he genuinely wanted to make positive changes, which resulted in a pretty solid economic and foreign policy. Ever have someone in life that just trashes a person, then you meet them and realize they weren't that bad? The media did this with Trump. They never would admit that Trump was capable of doing any good. I believe that is because they are also narcissists. However, many in the media don't see America as extensions of themselves, but rather their stories. Trump completely dismantled their narratives, starting with his election, and then every time after when he refused to bend to their will. They blew everything the man did out of proportion. Trump lied about about himself, but the media lied about Trump. Imo, O-line and Mikesez are great examples of how the media influences the general populace. Be embarrassed by Trump, sure. But be equally embarrassed by our media. Acknowledge that the dude wasn't actually that bad, and that most of the vitriol against the man was created by a media that was hellbent on destroying him. They shouldn't be trusted anymore. |
