Trevor was definitely pressured quite a bit in tonight's game and didn't look very comfortable for most of it. He did look a bit more solid in his last two drives and did a solid job of moving the ball down the field to help the Jags at least put a few points on the board. The O-line did not play well and that is concerning especially when it comes to making sure he's protected. He was getting hit quite a bit tonight and that's something not you want to see. I also thought that the play calling tonight was still pretty vanilla. And Urban had a bit of a defeated look on the sideline. That's not something you want to see either, you don't want to see the HC look like he's overmatched.
CJ Beathard also had another nice showing tonight and I have to wonder if that may factor into the depth chart and if they may try and move Gardner. Regarding the Saints, I thought that they looked good overall. Jameis had a nice showing and Calloway had some very impressive catches. Maybe the Lasik surgery has really helped Jameis and it could make a big difference in how he plays this year. That and being coached by Sean Payton who is creating an offense that suits Jameis. If they Jameis can cut down on his turnovers, maybe the Saints could have a nice showing this year. Their defense also played well tonight. |
