I think you could argue either way with that debate. I mean sure, Johnny benefited from having him on the team. But I could make an equally and perhaps even more valid argument that Evans looked way better than he is with a Heisman-winning quarterback throwing the ball to him. Seriously, how many wide-receivers in college can say that? I can only imagine that it must have been nice being the lead receiver at Stanford during the Luck years, or Oklahoma during the Bradford years. And the same can be said for Evans who caught passes from arguably the best QB in all of college over the last 2-years.

 

Even so, I don't think anything should be taken away from either of them just because they played together. Both are first round talents in my opinion, and both player's game will probably suffer a bit when they are separated. I personally would love to have Evans on the Jags, but it'd still be REEEEALLY hard for me to pick him over Watkins, just based on speed alone.
