Simply put? It's because they were supposed to. To their credit, they did, and you shouldn't take that away from them. But when you're playing starters against backups, if you do anything other than grind them into dust, you'd have a lot to be worried about. "

This is what I'm talking about.

Exactly what "starters" did the Jaguars have?

Four out of the starting five OL were out (unless Walker Little has been named a starter and I don't know about it).  The one starter that DID play, Jawaan Taylor, has been awful and likely would not start on most other teams.

Two of our three best receivers did not play.

O Shaugnessey, while technically a starter, likely would not start for most other teams.

Yes, he played against backups, but it is disingenuous to act as if he was playing with the full complement of starters offensively.

It's because most of them are too lazy to take 2 minutes to look at our team and who they fielded today.

Trevor might have went against back ups, but nobody can deny what he showed today. The ball placement on his throws jumped off the screen. He was fully in command and made everything look extremely easy.

The OL held up good considering 4 out of 5 starters were out. They were a make shift group today that had 2nd and 3rd stringers starting, so the the back ups narrative can be thrown out in that case.
