I liked Sydney Jones. I thought he was a good CB. I guess Seattle thought so, too.
The only reason I can think of as to why he might have been considered expendable is if there was someone else at about the same place on the depth chart who was better on special teams. Backup players have to be good on special teams. It's also possible that they could package one or more of these 6th round picks they've acquired and trade for a player at a position of more need.
