He's seriously been awful the past couple seasons.  I wouldn't hate bringing him in to see if he can reclaim some of that 2017/18 play, but he's really not much of an upgrade on what we have, and even if he is, that's more of an indictment on our guys.  There's a reason Dallas brought in 3 new LBers this offseason and released him despite not saving any money off this year's cap.

He made the Pro Bowl in 2019, so he hasn't been awful. In fact, on that ESPN show (Get Up) they were saying what an odd move it was to release him, especially since he was playing so well and since Leighton Vander Esch seems to be hurt all the time. They were speculating that something maybe has occurred with him off the field or in the locker room that led to this decision. They said they would be listening in the coming days to see if they could get any more information, because based on his level of play, this made no sense.
