Shocking Draft Day Trade Scenarios

#17

Quote:I know most talk is about who we will take at #3 overall, but this year could also be the time we make a huge trade with a playoff team and accumulate picks for our future. I think the biggest moves will come if either Clowney or Watkins are available when we pick.

My shocker trade would be with the Patriots. I know they pick #29 overall and everyone thinks they will be looking for another top TE for their offense, but the fact is the Patriots haven't had a true #1 WR since Moss...

I know the Patriots usually stock pile picks and trade out of the first round, but now is the time to really give Tom the weapon he needs on the outside before his window completely closes (it has already started to close). A receiver of Sammy Watkins caliber would probably instantly make them favorites in the AFC. They have tried the last few years to get by with smaller guys who can do the quick timing routes and are tough. But Sammy would give them that and also be a legit deep threat on the outside.

I am not saying the Patriots would break the bank. But I could definitely see them swapping first round picks with, and then we also get their 2nd and 4th round picks this year as well as their 1st  round pick next year.

So they get #3 pick - Sammy Watkins

We get #29 pick along with 2nd and 4th round pick this year, and a 1st round pick next year.

What are some other shocking trade scenarios?
That would be an absolutely horrible trade. The Jaguars aren't getting nearly enough from the Pats, and they'd be going from 3 to 29 in a year when they really, really need the third overall pick to be a talented, immediate starter. That doesn't happen nearly as often at 29.

That's a Grigson trade right there.
