Based on what he said about Goodell can't say I'm surprised the NFL would leak this to damage him. Seems like a total hit job. Not sure if there are more emails coming out but in the grand scheme of terrible things NFL players and coaches have done, mean emails aren't the most egregious thing I've ever seen. Imagine if there were microphones in the locker rooms. The comments you'd hear about Goodell, women, gays, etc... probably aren't going to be much different if not significantly worse. And the language used will probably be even more crass. The NFL is filled with significantly worse people than Gruden and many will always keep their job as long as they can perform.

I do think this is worse than the recent Meyer "scandal", but in similar fashion I think Gruden is a victim of being a polarizing person. If he was beloved, he could probably apologize his way out of it. Looking back at the Meyer "scandal", what did he do? A hot girl at the bar was grinding up on him and he was grabbing her butt. Who cares. Belicheck and Sean Payton actually cheated on their wives by having sex with other women. Did any of their fans care? No. Meyer however is very polarizing in this fanbase and many want him to fail. It's a convenient reason to rail on him.

Morality in the NFL is very selective. Based mostly on winning and then somewhat if people like the guy.
