When even the great JIM BROWN said Fred Taylor is one of the best he has ever seen:

"Marcus Allen and I used to talk about a running back that no one else used to talk about out of Jacksonville, Fred Taylor. And Fred is cold-blooded and nobody generally talks about this guy. You can't catch him. He's got all the natural moves. He just got hurt a lot. So those of us who had the keen eye knew that Fred was one of the greatest running backs that I've seen in a long time...".

Fred missed 24 games from 99-01. If he would averaged the 76 YPG he amassed over the course of his career, he would've had just over 13,500 career yards. Good for 8th all time. That would've put him solidly in HOF consideration. As it stands now, everyone ahead of him that is eligible is in the hall of fame. The only 2 NOT are Frank Gore and Adrian Peterson.

Emmitt had great vision and a stellar O-Line, but Fred had all world talent and could either cut on a dime or flat out run you over (see: Mike Doss). James Robinson is getting there...but he isn't there yet. He doesn't have the 5th gear Fred had, but he does not go down easy.
