Which prompts a question which might seem dumb. Is elite speed, as it regards to top gear, essential for a running back? Considering they spend 95% of their plays fighting for yardage, is high end speed critical? Perhaps that's what prevented Robinson from getting drafted because he self-admittedly lacks a tall gear. But as we can see from the results of his play, it matters little in establishing him as a premier RB.
