You keep trying to blame the armorer, but it was not necessarily her fault.  The assistant director who negligently handed Baldwin the firearm while claiming that it was unloaded had been fired in the past for safety violation involving a firearm.

The ultimate person responsible is the person who pulled the trigger (Alec Baldwin).  To say that he is a "victim" is ignorant nonsense.

Normally, I would agree with you. I know basic safety protocol in any circle I run in is to check the magazine and the chamber. However, I'm not sure that makes sense if we're talking about blanks. Considering I've never used a blank, or even know what one looks like, it wouldn't do much good to double check the chamber. I'm assuming he was handed a revolver (being a western), so is he supposed to pull out each round every time he's handed the weapon to shoot a scene? I think that's why they have an armorer. This looks like it's on the assistant producer.
