Obviously you can raise her how you want. I didn’t mean to imply that you’re doing it wrong.

I think my main point was that in my 20 years of coaching/teaching kids from all ages, the early years are extremely important. I’ve seen kids burnt out at 11 from being pushed way too hard. I’ve seen kids not be pushed enough. I’ve seen kids find a love for a sport only to have their parents absolutely squash that love.

There should be a balance and of course there’s not always one way to do things. Find what works for your kid and go from there. How you were taught to do something when you were younger may not always work on your own kid.
