There are disagreements on what natural born citizen means and whether both parents have to be citizens or not. Generally  it is both parents have to be as it meets both sides of the rule if born outside of the US.

I’m gonna be honest and own my stupidity if I’m wrong.  I thought it literally meant born in the US.  As in both parents could be immigrants and gave birth to a child in the US.
