I guess you had never heard of Steve Beuerlein, our top pick in the expansion draft. Mark Brunell arrived by trade after we drafted Beuerlein, then spent the first few games on the bench.

 

You also are wrong statistically. Brunell threw only 20 touchdown passes in 1999. David Garrd broke that team record in 2007. So he was not our only good quarterback for sure.

Where do you get 2-3 playoff berths from? Learn how to count.1996, 1997, 1998, 1999 - four seasons. Did we not go to the playoffs all four years?

Why does it matter? Did you see that player reversal during 49ers games when Steve Young was there or Falcons games when they had Michael Vick? If not, you have no argument. Even with Boselli, Brunell was sacked more than any other quarterback at least one season. Obviously being left-handed did not make a difference to defenses.

However, the Jags are a bit ridiculous too - with the way they STILL keep 8, 71, 82 out of "rotation". All 3 of those numbers should be in use by now. Hell..., Michael Irvin was arguably a better player at his position than all 3 of those were at their positions, and won THREE SB's, and yet Dallas still has #88 in the rotation, which Dez Bryant uses currently....

 

Who did the Eagles retire numbers for? Are you just complaining or were they really not great players?

Dez Bryant should have not asked for permission to use it. If you want to be part of a team, you need to honor that team's tradition and history, not request permission to be a retired number. I am glad the Broncos let Peyton Manning wear #18, however, because nobody seems to know a guy named Frank Tripeka anymore.
