Where in PA?  I too hail from there.

 

UNF is a good school.  They have a beautiful campus and have high admission standards.  The campus is constantly improving and the new buildings, especially the gym and student union are awesome.  They hosted a Republican debate in the last election cycle.  Campus looked great!

 

EricC85 is correct that it is like most cities, some good and some bad.  Jacksonville is a little different than a lot of cities because it takes a while to find things. Ask some locales about good restaurants since they are sometimes hidden.  The city has a great micro brewery scene and the beaches are uncrowded and gorgeous.  

 

metrojacksonville.com has a good pulse on the city.  Check it out.  Jazz Festival is 2nd largest in the country and Google the OneSpark  festival (beonespark.com).  It is great as well.  That one is big and getting bigger.  Also CNNMoney just ran this article: http://money.cnn.com/2014/02/21/smallbus...-startups/
