My latest thoughts on first round:


 

1. HOU - QB B. Bortles (Texans take QB of the future over bust-risk Clowney)


2. STL - OT G. Robinson (upside of this athletic beast too good to pass up for Rams)


3. ATL - DE J. Clowney (from JAC) (Clowney gets his wish, and Falcons get their stud DE)


4. CLE - QB T. Bridgewater (Browns bluff of favoring Carr over other QB’s works)


5. OAK - OT J. Matthews (Raiders pass on Manziel for the most NFL-ready prospect of 2014)


6. JAC - DE K. Mack (from ATL) (The defensive playmaker & pass rusher Jags need desperately)


7. TAM - WR S. Watkins (Sammy paired with V-Jack could be a scary combo for opposing DB’s)


8. MIN - QB J. Manziel (Vikings hope Johnny can be a modern day Fran Tarkenton)


9. BUF - OLB A. Barr (Could be WR Mike Evans here, but OLB a big need and BAP)


10. DET - CB D. Dennard (Lions take home-state shut-down CB without hesitation)


11. TEN – CB J. Gilbert (CB Alterraun Verner expected to leave in Free Agency)


12. NYG - OT T. Lewan (Biggest priority for G-men is to protect declining Eli Manning)


13. STL – WR M. Evans (Rams would be ecstatic if Evans made it to them here)


14. CHI - DT A. Donald (Impressive DT suits Bears needs just fine)


15. PIT – FS H. Clinton-Dix (Steelers need OLB, but can pass up help at Safety)


16. DAL – DT T. Jernigan (Cowboys grab solid DT  for their worn-out D-line)


17. BAL - LB C.J. Mosley (Ravens built around their LB’s and upgrade with Mosley)


18. NYJ - WR M. Lee (Lee should be a lock to Jets if still available here)


19. MIA - OT Z. Martin (Will the Dolphins dare take any other position in round 1?)


20. ARI - OLB D. Ford (The Cardinals are a wildcard here, and could trade down)


21. G.B.- TE E. Ebron (Jamarcus Finley not expected back, and Ebron would be a great fit)


22. PHI - FS C. Pryor (Safety has been penciled-in to the Eagles for months now)


23. K.C.- WR O. Beckham Jr (Dynamic WR/KR adds to already talented offense)


24. CIN - OLB R. Shazier (May be a slight reach, but James Harrison is on his last legs)


25. S.D. - CB J. Verrett (Best available CB brings some speed to Chargers secondary)


26. CLE - WR K. Benjamin (A big red zone target to couple with Josh Gordon, Teddy smiles)


27. N.O. - WR B. Cooks (Will be the Saints “Wes Welker” in slot for Drew Brees)


28. CAR - OT C. Koundjio (OT a must-have for Panthers who probably lose Jordan Gross)


29. N.E. – NT L. Nix (Big NT falls a little, but Pats happy to have Wilfork’s replacement)


30. S.F. – DT R. Hageman (Justin Smith can’t be too far from retirement, Hageman could go higher)


31. DEN - DE K. Ealy (Could be a WR here to replace Decker, but Ealy too talented to pass up)


32. SEA – TE J. Amaro (The rich get richer as last piece of the offensive puzzle falls in place)


 

P.S. Is it sad that I have almost memorized the entire draft order?


 

Round 2 notes:  Jags take a WR  (Allen Robinson?) and an OG (Su'a-Filo or Yankey) in round 2 with extra pick from Atlanta.  QB David Carr goes to Oakland.  Denver takes WR Donte Moncrief or Jordan Matthews at end or round 2 to replace Eric Decker, and rookie WR catches 10 TD passes.
