Alualu now the only player left on the roster from the 2007-2010 drafts

Quote:With the amount of cap space the Jaguars have right now I doubt dead money even factors into it. The circa 5mil that the team would save on his last two seasons by cutting him is real money, as in real money that is yet to be paid and which could be paid to someone worthwhile in free agency. That's the point. There is no 5 million in savings by cutting him. You guys are only looking at his base salary and not factoring his previous bonuses and how those are assigned to the cap. Cutting him this year would save 1 million this year. He has a player option for 2015, which I assume he will exercise unless he has some outstanding year. Based on his 2015 option, cutting him next year would save 2.5 million for that year. Making it more likely he is cut next year, if at all.
