My two mocks

#1

A couple scenarios, both of which are with "perfect F/A" aquisitions. G/DE needs addressed.

1.Sammy Watkins, WR

2. Van Noy, OLB

3. Travis Swanson, C

4. Seastrunk, RB

4. Halapio, OG

This scenario has us grabbing Boyd as a developmental QB in round 6 or 7 and riding with Henne/Gabbert until 2015.

1. Teddy Bridgewater, QB

2.  Tre Mason, RB

3. D. Easley, DT (with his injury and "undersize" tag I think he slides to us here) possibly able to play multiple positions along Dline

4. Mike Davis, WR

4. Stork, C

I stop at round 4 because I honestly don't have in depth knowledge on guys who will be late round picks. I don't know a lot about backups and I don't pretend to be some all knowing GM.

However I think these two scenarios benefit the Jaguars each in their own way in the short term and long term. One has a wait and see approach to QB while grabbing a developmental guy in Boyd who could surprise, especially getting to work with a weapon in Watkins he is familiar with. If all else fails, we should be able to nab a really good QB in 2015. The other addresses QB and RB, while relying more on FA's to fix the holes at DE and Oline.

The first scenario gives us the possibility of having a trio of WRs at the end of the season that could be the best in the league, and if Shorts leaves and Blackmon is a good boy has us a very good trio next season with Sanders in the 3rd role. Seastrunk is a good RB to add to Todman and hopefully a more polished Robinson. Halapio adds to an Oline group that could be much better than last years with Joeckel, Pasztor, FA, Halapio, and Swanson. Van Noy could be that "Leo" pick and we could still add a FA Dline guy since the defense requires a lot of different looks and guys to play multiple roles.

The Second gives us our, hopefully, QB of the future, a firecracker RB, an all purpose Dline guy, another WR to add to the mix, and our new C.

Nobody is perfect, so I don't pretend that this is what will happen, or what Caldwell SHOULD do, or that the exact picks could happen like this.

But everyone is doing mocks, and I am bored. So these are mine....

Class, begin dissecting.

ABOUT US
The Jungle Forums is the Jaguars' biggest fan message board. Talking about the Jags since 2006, the Jungle was the team-endorsed home of all things Jaguars.

Since 2017, the Jungle is now independent of the team but still run by the same crew. We are here to support and discuss all things Jaguars and all things Duval!
