If we had a caching staff in place, they could have discussed with the scouts exactly the type of players they are looking for at every position.  They could have conducted interviews with the players to get some insight as to their character, work ethic, etc.

Drafting effectively is hard enough as it is without the added disadvantage of not having a coach (possibly a GM) two days before the Senior Bowl.

No worries, Baalke will be doing the scouting at night on his ipad lol.  I agree that I wish we came to an agreement with them earlier. I'm thankful the Vikings fired Spielman, no telling where we would be if that didn't happen.
