Good point. We better hope for Fangio or the linebackers coach rumored from Tampa, Mike Caldwell, as both would keep the 3-4. I'd much prefer Fangio because he's realistically not getting another HC shot, but he's a top-5 D-coordinator.

Agreed. If we go back to a 4-3 defense, we're just creating more problems for ourselves. We brought in new 5 Techniques and NT's last season to make the switch to 3-4. None of them can rush the passer, so we'd need to find a penetrating 3 technique. We'd also have people Roy Robertson-Harris (who we gave a significant contract to) and Jihad Ward, just sitting on the bench with no scheme fit in a 4-3 defense. On top of that we're already thin at LB, no matter what scheme we use. Finding a true MLB would have to be a priority somewhere in the first couple days of the draft. On the interior D-Line, Malcolm Brown and DaVon Hamilton would be great on running downs, but they offer little against the pass.
