The moderates seem to be the ones more aware of the extremes on both sides. It makes sense why they're so desperately clinging to the establishment. The problem is that it's the establishment that's creating the extremes on both sides. In that sense. Until the moderates sack up and form the largest body against the establishment, the extremists are in a battle for control. It stands to reason that what is going to eventually happen is the moderates will eventually capitulate to one side's demands, which will result in complete elimination of the opposing voice, and the result will be a government shaped by the new loudest voice.

The worst part of this, to me, is that it's pretty clear right now that the radical left is far more authoritarian in its end game. We can all see it, but people are afraid to say it. Well, I guess some are just blinded by the control they have of the narrative.

They have more than control of the narrative, they have control of the means. Say the wrong thing on social media and you’re pilloried then silenced. Want your own platform? Nope. Then the host services refuse to carry it. Look what happened to Parler.

We’re in a dangerous time now because people are physically banned from expressing their opinion. Debate is being labeled as threatening and then squelched. The moderate left may not agree with the radicals of their party, but they have no problem seeing opposing ideas silenced, and that is the dichotomy of the left today.
