We’re in a dangerous time now because people are physically banned from expressing their opinion. Debate is being labeled as threatening and then squelched. The moderate left may not agree with the radicals of their party, but they have no problem seeing opposing ideas silenced, and that is the dichotomy of the left today.

1) Times today are not nearly as polarized or unstable as you think, not yet anyway,
2) "He who has the army" will beat "he who has the Twitter" easily. If I was scared of an extremist takeover in the next 10 years, I'd be scared of the right, not the left

Times are rapidly moving that direction, you just refuse to see it. The Armed Forces are being deconstructed into a left leaning defender of the government rather than the Constitution, you also refuse to see that.
