Here are some of the teams other than Jacksonville who have spent first round picks on running backs:
2021: Pittsburg 2020: Kansas City 2019: Oakland 2018: New England, Seattle, NY Giants 2017: Carolina So, if you think RBs are a dime a dozen and you shouldn't waste a draft pick on one, Bill Belichick, Andy Reid, Mike Tomlin, and Pete Carroll disagree, even to the extent of spending a first round pick on one. The whole idea that one shouldn't spend a draft pick on any particular position defies logic. Every position is important, and if you have a hole, the best way to fill it is to pick the player you want, not just wait and see what's left over undrafted. |
