Will Jags make the mistake of passing on the most dominant player in the draft?

Sauce is the only guy I see who will immediately be top 5 at his position upon being drafted. I think that is the intention of a #1 pick. The only position off the table for us is QB.

Depending upon his 40 time, he's the only freak draftee I'm aware of. He's right now projected to be BETTER than Ramsey imo. You don't pass on that. And I like our two current CBs, it's just you don't pass on freaks.
For certain an option if the Jags trade out of the 1 hole.

But that's what the #1 pick is for right? To get the best player in the draft. With exception being made if you need a QB. You want the draftee who projects as being top 5 at their position as soon as possible.

Are any of the other names being tossed around projected to be top 5 at their position? Neal, Thibodaux, DE from Michigan? What I'm gathering is they will be solid starters, not super stars. Correct me if I'm wrong.

It's why good teams seem to remain good for a while. They're usually drafting later and get these players who due to position (S, CB, LB, TE) it's viewed they can't go #1 so the bad teams who can really use them, miss them and instead get players who are ranked higher because "you don't draft CBs #1".

We need a DE and WR more than CB, but none in the draft will be as dominant at their position as Sauce will be at his.
