Was there ever any doubt? I swear, Baalke must have compromising photos of Shad Khan. It's the only thing that makes sense.

He never was. He was just paying the fanbase and the media lip service about the EVP position being a possibility when they introduced Pederson's hiring. That was just the "business savvy" in him trying to figure out a way to pivot the frustrations regarding Baalke still being in the front office. 

I genuinely believe he's not going to get the EVP position filled until after free agency and the draft. He's also hoping Pederson can produce immediate results with Lawrence and that they'll at least start winning games and looking more competitive, even in losing efforts. He'll somehow be able to give additional credit to Baalke if the roster plays better or pans out. Thus, justifying his intellect and decision making. 

Winning cures all. I'll give him that. However, if it doesn't work out this time? He'll have his hand forced for sure. There's already enough public pressure on him as it stands with this Baalke situation. This team can ill afford to finish with another top three to five draft pick in 2023. It will be embarrassing. The fans will double down this time and the public opinion nationally will shift towards dramatically crucifying him. 

Maybe he'll get the last laugh later on in December of this year. Those who clowned him will now have become the clowns. Good on him.
