Baalke barely has any prized talent to scare away and Pederson seems to understand the importance of building roster and scheme around his young, rising QB.  Of course there are ways to screw this up, but if Pederson gets his way on roster input, they'll improve markedly between now and September.

In fact - If Pederson has similar input on personnel to what Meyer supposedly had, then this even may be a better alternative to putting more cooks in the kitchen. Long shot, but I'm being optimistic here.

I also believe there's a good chance Pederson survives and outlives Baalke's tenure in Jax - unless of course they collectively hit a home run this offseason - then they may both stick for a while.

Coughlin at that stage in his career was like Baalke is today. That's the problem. They have very similar personalities. 

That's not gonna happen. Baalke has final say and a history of not getting along with head coaches. Pederson will get whatever Baalke decides to give him and nothing more. 

There has been no indication of that. When Meyer was hired, Khan said at the press conference that Meyer would have final say on things. Khan never made any mention of the same kind of setup when Pederson was hired. 

I highly doubt that. If Baalke has made it this far, he's not going anywhere....... unless he and Khan "break up."
