I hope we do not rent him again.  This is a rebuild so no reason to start the rebuild with a player we do not plan to keep long term.  Either find a free agent, sign Cam to a long term deal if they really believe in him, Grow little, or use the top pick on a LT.  

Using the franchise tag will just get us right back in the same situation next year.  The difference is if we are much better we won't have a high pick to get a LT next season.

The reason you do this is so Lawrence doesn't die with a somehow worse OL in front of him.  It also gives you flexibility in the draft so you don't HAVE to draft Evan Neal.

We're basically playing with Monopoly money at this point when it comes to cap space.  We already had the most, and now everybody has more than they know what to do with.
