At #9 this year, they should have their pick at either the 1st, or 2nd QB off the board. Do you take that knowing you don't have to force him onto the field too soon (day 1) because you give Lock a chance to fail first?

As far as Carroll and Schneider go, maybe they're both on the same page and under the impression that this wont be a complete reset, but merely just a retooling of sorts. Maybe they think that the draft picks they get in this Wilson trade, as well as the money they'll save in cap space for trading him, on top of the cap space they already had (7th most iirc) will help them restock quickly.

Heck with the egos those kinda guys have, they might think they'll just find another Wilson in the mid rounds. Hey, we did it once, why can't we do it again? Who says we got to draft a QB high? We already showed them once... Kind of thing lol.

WR Tyler Lockett is said to be on the trade block for them as well.

They might not be done dealing this year. I wouldn't be shocked for them to bring in a veteran qb. Marcus Mariota is a free agent. He's not Russell Wilson obviously. But he's starter quality. There are others, too. Winston. Bridgewater. Somebody's going to trade for Jimmy G.

Yea Mitch Trubisky seems to be a hot name on the FA market as well. He'll get another shot somewhere also.

Will be interesting to see what happens with Jimmy. This will be the final year of his contract and he just had shoulder surgery (today I think). Will he be healed up in time for training camp or not is a big question. Is a team going to trade for him on a 1 year lease and hope there isn't any set backs in rehab? Or do you trade for him with a contract extension agreement worked in and use the injury as leverage to add a couple more years for lesser $$$.
